The US Graduation class of 2022 came to the nation’s capital looking to celebrate their achievements and plan how to become tomorrow’s next generation of leaders, CEOs, entrepreneurs, and startup founders.

This was a group of forward-thinking graduates who came from across the globe to Nexford University’s US graduation held in Washington DC; the Nation’s Capital and Nexford’s hometown.

These bold individuals, who elected to take a different path to all others by shunning an outdated traditional university education, came to celebrate their success and reminisce about the hard work and dedication it took to get them to this point.

In the company of senior Nexford individuals, faculty and business leaders, the graduate’s achievements were celebrated, and inspirational words of encouragement exchanged.

Morgan Davis, CEO of TowneBank said when addressing the graduates, “When you think about success, leadership, the future, and the skills that required to be successful, there are four characteristics that come into play when I am looking to hire someone. They are positive energy, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and having a sense of urgency. Those four critical things will ensure that Nexford graduates go a long way in the modern business world.

Sentiments echoed by Nexford’s CEO and Founder Fadl Al Tarzi who offered the graduates encouragement for their business future when he said on the night, “The world has changed dramatically in how we learn and work. Remote working is becoming the norm and online learning is growing in parallel to it. Physical location needs no longer be a constraint to success. Those who embrace this new paradigm will be better positioned for success.

Carlos Gutierrez, the Former US Secretary of Commerce and Former CEO of Kellogg Company was also extremely complimentary of the role that Nexford is playing in revolutionizing the higher education sector and recognized the importance of upskilling when he said, “The future is about skills. With a Nexford MBA not only will you have improved your critical thinking skills, but you will also be on a par with others regardless of where they graduated.

Graduates in attendance were also given the platform to tell others about why they chose Nexford and how this learner-centric, future-focused, and mission-driven university allowed them to learn while they earned, at their own pace, and in a highly affordable way.

Efe Alasa, an MBA graduate who came all the way from Canada with her husband, who also graduated with her, spoke about her Nexford journey when she said, “It took me a year to complete my MBA when all my other colleagues took two, I saved over 50% on my tuition, and I have applied the knowledge that I gained at Nexford to start my own business.

As Nexford is a global university with learners residing in over 85 countries, it made sense that there would be representation of graduates coming from far flung regions of the world such as Malan Kouame who hails from Côte d’Ivoire. He told us, “When I was looking for a university, I was looking for an institution that would help improve my management and leadership skills and provide me with the competencies to manage and lead people better. When I heard of Nexford I spoke to a success advisor and previous alumni who convinced me to enrol. I have now been promoted to a senior role and believe that I am adding even more value to the company.

Nexford salutes the class of 2022 US graduates and is looking forward to welcoming the next collection of bold and different learners looking to emulate their achievements in 2023.
