A brand-new alliance between business networking platform LinkedIn and the online university opens up a world of opportunity for Nexford learners

In its latest move, the next-generation university has joined forces with the planet’s biggest professional social network, LinkedIn, reinforcing its already dynamic curriculum – and reflecting the latest employer needs and market trends. Every enrolled Nexford learner will benefit from unlimited free access to expert-led courses on any subject they choose.

Skills for tomorrow’s careers

The LinkedIn Learning platform features over 16,000 courses, led by industry professionals like Sheryl Sandberg and experts such as Harvard’s John Ullmen. People can develop both soft skills – such as Building Resilience – and hard business skills like those topping LinkedIn’s most popular courses in 2020: Blockchain Basics, Learn Cloud Computing, Analytical Reasoning, and more.

Nexford learners who want to cement or bolster their knowledge on leadership or management – which forms part of some the core course content on the BBA, MBA and AAS in Business degree – can currently choose between 951 courses and 294 video tutorials. Data science – part of the popular MBA specialization, Advanced AI & the Future of Automation – offers 721 courses and 270 video tutorials. With dozens of courses added to the LinkedIn Learning portfolio every week, new learning opportunities are easy to find.

Just-in-time learning, in-demand skills

Dr Sheila Fournier Bonilla, Nexford’s Chief Academic Officer, says: “Partnering with LinkedIn Learning gives our learners access to an incredible wealth of professional, relevant business knowledge. It is a chance for them to continue to show their current and future employers that while they are at Nexford, they are developing their skillset.”

Paul Coleman, Chief Technology Officer at Nexford, says that on average, LinkedIn Learning publishes 25 courses each week. Previously at Microsoft – which bought LinkedIn for $26.2 billion in 2016 – Coleman has an insider’s view on the future of technology in higher education.

“The knowledge in LinkedIn Learning paired with Nexford’s ability to update an already dynamic curriculum is really a powerful match.”
